Lena Dunham "interviewed" Greta Gerwig for Paper Magazine.
I usually have a lot of problems with the whole "it girl" culture, especially the way it coincides with hipster culture. And for the most part I have not jumped on the whole Greta Gerwig train, other than to admire how brutally honest she is on screen. I find it telling that she doesn't think of herself as an actress. Because I don't think I do either, really. What she does in film feels like something other than acting. I would not call her a "good actress." She is, however, fascinating and lovely to watch.
This is worth reading, insightful about the way female artists of my generation think. I especially enjoy when Gerwig calls bullshit on herself.
